JAY & TESSY MILLER
HIS STORY
Born Into a Legacy.
Called to Carry It Forward.
Jay S. Miller was born and raised in Lafayette, Louisiana — the son of Sterling and Jean Miller, founders of The Family Church. Growing up, he watched his parents build a ministry from nothing but faith, $60, and an unshakable promise from God. That foundation shaped everything.
In 1994, Jay married his high school sweetheart, Tessy — his partner in life, ministry, and the raising of five sons. Together they have built a family culture rooted in faith, purpose, and the kind of love that carries into generations.
Jay began his ministry career as a youth pastor in 1990, and in 2002 he stepped into the role of Lead Pastor of The Family Church — succeeding his father Sterling, who had faithfully led the church since its founding in 1973, a 29-year tenure that transformed 2.5 acres into a thriving ministry community.
Today, three of Jay's five sons are married and raising families of their own — continuing the generational legacy of faith that Sterling and Jean started more than 50 years ago. Jay and Tessy are also the proud grandparents of Beckham Jules, Callum Jay, and Margret Jean.

BOOK JAY TO SPEAK
Speaking Topics
Keynote · Legacy
The Legacy Code
Most people think legacy is about what they accumulate — Jay reframes it entirely. This keynote unpacks the difference between a life that leaves things for people and a life that leaves something in people, and gives audiences a practical framework for building a legacy that outlasts them.
Men's Events · Fatherhood
Raising Kings
Drawing from 30+ years of ministry and raising five sons of his own, Jay delivers a powerful message to fathers about the irreplaceable role they play in shaping the identity, purpose, and destiny of the next generation of men.
Family · Culture
The Culture of Your Home
Every family has a culture — the question is whether you built it on purpose or by accident. Jay challenges men and families to become intentional architects of their home environment, instilling values, faith, and vision that carry into generations.
Men's Events · Purpose
Men Who Leave Marks
Designed specifically for men's events, this session confronts the quiet crisis of men who are present but not purposeful. Jay calls men to step into their God-given role as legacy builders — in their marriages, their fatherhood, and their communities.
Keynote · Generational Faith
The Generational Transfer
Inspired by the story of Sterling and Jean Miller, this keynote explores how faith, values, and vision are passed from one generation to the next — and what happens when that transfer is neglected. A message that moves audiences to take their role in the chain seriously.
Family · Marriage · Leadership
Building a Family That Stands
In a culture that's working against the family unit, Jay brings hope and practical wisdom on how to build a family rooted in faith, honor, and shared purpose. This session speaks to couples, parents, and leaders who want their family to be their greatest legacy.
