The Vision

For twelve months we are not going to read about legacy — we are going to build it. One principle a month. One assignment a month. One decision, made and re-made, to stop drifting and start building on purpose.

And at the end of it, we celebrate the men who went the distance — not with a certificate, but with a journey. Three days in the Arkansas mountains: fishing, boating, hiking, and a once-in-a-lifetime experience to mark a year that changed a man and the family standing behind him.

This trip is not given. It is earned. And that is the point.

How You Earn Your Seat

Meet all three of these standards across the 12-month journey, and you earn your place on the Lasting Legacy Journey:

1

Finish All 12 Months

Complete every chapter of MARKED, start to finish.

2

Make 10 of 12 Meetings

Attend the in-person gatherings. You get two “mulligans” — for vacation, sickness, life. Just two. Iron sharpens iron in the room, not online.

3

Do Every Assignment

The Legacy Statement, the daily blessing, the broken pattern, and every assignment that follows.

The Destination — Lake Ouachita & Mount Ida

Tucked in the Ouachita Mountains of west-central Arkansas, Lake Ouachita is the largest lake in the state — 40,000 acres of some of the clearest water in the country, ringed by national forest and dotted with quiet islands and coves. Just up the road sits Mount Ida, the Quartz Crystal Capital of the World. It is one of the few places on earth that delivers all four of the things we want in one weekend — with a basecamp of lakeside cabins to do it from.

Suggested basecamp: a block of lakeside cabins or a resort with a marina (such as Mountain Harbor Resort & Spa or the Lake Ouachita State Park cabins) — so boats, trails, water, and fellowship are all steps from the door.

What the Weekend Holds

🎣

Fishing

The Striped Bass Capital of the World — plus largemouth, crappie, bream, and catfish. We fish the cool of the morning, guided or on our own.

🚤

Boating

40,000 acres of clear water, pontoon and fishing-boat rentals, and 200 islands to explore — and a sunset cruise worth shutting the phones off for.

🥾

Hiking

The Ouachita National Forest right out the door — Caddo Bend, the LOViT, and the 223-mile Ouachita National Recreation Trail. Big views, real conversation.

💎

Dig Your Legacy Stone

At a Mount Ida crystal mine, every man digs his own quartz crystal and keeps it — a stone to remind you of a journey that lasts. (Optional: Crater of Diamonds State Park.)

🔥

Brotherhood

Real men, real purpose, lasting impact — fire-circle devotions, the capstone bonfire, and the kind of conversations that mark a year and a man.
